Twenty two candidates for one National Assembly seat and 27 candidates for one Punjab Assembly seat are in the run for election 2013 in the provincial metropolis.
Provincial Election Commissioner, Punjab Mehboob Anwar told APP here Monday that a total of 287 candidates representing different political parties including independent are contesting in the city against 13 seats of National Assemblies and 690 candidates for 25 Punjab Assembly seats.
A total of 4,410,095 registered voters including 2,515,400 female will elect the candidates of their choice on May 11.
The highest number of 24 contestants are in NA-123 and NA-129 each and NA-119 is the only National Assembly constituency where 18 candidates are in field.
PP-159 is the only constituency in city which will witness the contest among the highest number of 44 candidates and PP-142 is having minimum number of only 14 contestants compared to all other Punjab Assembly constituencies.
The interesting contest will be held among the PPP, PML(N), PTI and JI in the city. (APP)
