Strong 5.7 magnitude earthquake hits Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR – Strong tremors were felt in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Mingora and its suburbs and FATA early Sunday morning.

According to Meteorological Department, intensity of the jolts was measured 5.7 at Richter scale and its epicenter is believed to be located in Hindukush Mountain Range.  The areas where the shakes were felt include North Waziristan Agency, Peshawar, Mingora and Shangla, where panicked people ran out of their houses reciting Kalma and verses of the Holy Quran.
